"Alberto Ascari Revival" 2009

Between 13 and 15 of November 2009, Oldtimer Club will participate with two crews in the famous rally “Alberto Ascari Revival” organized by Ascari Race Resort together with the imposing car house Kienle Automobiltechnik from Germany and the distinguished producer of Swiss watches, Chopard. The contest will begin with two competitions on one of the best race tracks in Europe and it will continue with an outstanding scenic route in the south of Spain. Being this year in its second edition, the “Alberto Ascari Revival” rally promises to become one of the most important annual events in the calendar of such manifestations in Europe.
The two crews that will represent our club in this competition are represented by Dr. Costel Casuneanu and Zani Maurillo who will operate a remarkable Mercedes Benz 290 Roadster from 1937, a rarity in its class, as long as official data confirm that only two 290 Roadster models were built in the Mercedes factory; the second crew will be represented by Casuneanu Ionut and Casuneanu Costel Jr. on a Porsche 356 from 1952, a real beauty from the private collection of Casuneanu family.
